Hi, Ken —

As far as I know, schizophrenia doesn't intrinsically affect one's will or reason. If you're capable of understanding right and wrong (when you're not psychotic) you would not be treated as an infant and would be required to learn the faith and assent to it before being baptized.

If you are wholly unable at all times to distinguish right from wrong, then you should be treated as an infant but I'd consult a priest on this to be absolutely sure; it may highly depend on your particular situation.
