Hi Victor,
I sent Fr. Jonathan your question and he replied:
What's to stop him from using Skype for RCIA formation.
- Are you familiar with this video software?
You would have to talk to your RCIA director about setting up a Skype installation up on a PC at the parish when classes are being given. On your end, at home, you would have to:
- get a Video Cam for your PC and
- install both:
- the Video Cam software that comes with the Video Cam and
- the Skype software.
Here are some Skype alternatives.
Not much of a techie?
- Maybe you know a good friend who is a PC guy who can help you out, or
- maybe the parish has someone they can send out to your house.
If you have addition concerns about being a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and your obligation to receive the sacraments, talk to your pastor about:
- having Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist make regular visits to your home, and
- having a priest regularly visit you so you can receive the sacrament of Confession.
- Does this help and make sense?
