Wondering Will wrote:

Hi, guys —

  • If I were to practice lucid dreaming (the ability to control one's dreams), is there any chance that I would be inviting unwanted evil spirits into my life?

  { Would practicing lucid dreaming (the ability to control one's dreams) invite unwanted, evil spirits into my life? }

Eric replied:

Will,

Only if you invite them into your life explicitly and willfully while lucid dreaming. There is nothing about lucid dreaming itself that invites evil spirits in.

Eric

Will replied:

Eric,

Thank you for the response.

If I can rephrase the question to make it clearer.  It is not the content of the dream itself that I am worried about, but rather practicing the ability to learn how to lucid dream.

I had always thought that you could unwillingly or unknowingly invite evil spirits through certain activities.  I have personal reasons for attempting to lucid dream as I might be suffering from REM sleep disorder, (I have not yet been diagnosed) and that is rather frightening to me.

Eric replied:

Will,

That's pretty much in line with what I assumed you were asking. There's nothing about learning how to lucid dreams that would invite evil spirits.

Eric

Will replied:

Thank you!

Will
