Hi, guys —
I am 10 years old.
My parents aren't Catholic, and neither am I, but I have Catholic beliefs because of EWTN.
I watch the Catholic Mass on EWTN, I do prayers on the channel, I do prayers (almost) always with the Sign of the Cross but I'm not a confirmed or baptized Catholic at all, but that's beside the point. I don't go to church for Mass, but I have to as a Christian.
- Is there any way you can help?

Dear Thomas,
I am amazed at how God has worked in your life to bring you knowledge of Himself — through the TV, no less. While most kids watch a lot of junk, you are filling your mind with the mysteries of God; good for you!
I would do two things:
- Find a good Catholic Church and talk to someone there (a priest or religious Ed Director) about the path to becoming Catholic, and
- Have a talk with your parents. Most parents spend more time worrying about their children getting into trouble, not finding faith, so this may be more happily greeted than you imagine.
The worst-case scenario is that you have to wait until you are a bit older when you have more responsibility in decision-making. Parents have the responsibility for their children's welfare; that's why they have the "right" to make decisions for them. As a child matures, parents share more of that responsibility with the child, so they learn to make good decisions and feel the consequences of bad ones. The total transfer of this responsibility/authority happens when the parent no longer has any responsibility; in other words, the child is an adult and supports himself. So until then, you must cooperate with and obey your parents while you grow.
- If they agree to let you pursue this, then you shouldn't have any problem.
- If they say no, just continue to study and pray to God to lead you and to open the doors to make a way for you. He will, because He promised that those who seek shall find. (Matthew 7:7)
Peace,
