Hi, guys —

I was married in the Catholic church in 1983; divorced in 2009 and received an annulment.

I remarried in a civil ceremony in 2011; later, (I don't recall the year), I had my marriage blessed.

That marriage is now on the rocks. My husband and I are now separate and reconciliation doesn't look very promising.

  • If I were to divorce again, can I have a second annulment?

Angie

  { Given my marital history, if I were to get a second divorce, could I have a second annulment? }

Eric replied:

Angie,

If you're asking whether it's now impossible to get one, the answer is no, it's not impossible or ruled out a priori. But we are not canon lawyers and cannot promise you an annulment or address individual cases. I encourage you to find a canon lawyer or speak to your pastor.

Eric
