Dear Apologists,

Thank you very much for donating some of your time to answering questions. Thanks especially to Mr. Humphrey for operating such a fine web site.

My question is a general one:

  • Do you know of any good web sites, books, essays, magazine articles, etc. on Science and the Catholic Faith?

Specifically, I am interested in issues of Modern Science (Quantum Mechanics and Indeterminacy, for example) as well as the compatibility of the Philosophy of Science with Catholic Theology and Philosophy.

What I am really looking for is answers to questions like:

How can God have a plan for the universe down to the minutest detail, if the actions of particles on the atomic scale seem to be random or at least fundamentally unpredictable?

Thanks very much,

Sean

Mike replied:

Hi, Sean —

First, thank-you for the kind words about my site. I have a great team of lay volunteer Catholic apologists who assist me. Without their help, running this site would be extremely difficult.

It is my hope and daily prayer, that the work we have done at both CPATS.ORG and AskACatholic.com will be replicated by young Catholics who have heard the call from Pope St. John Paul II to get actively involved in the New Evangelization to catholicize the world.

If you are interested, I have a LinkedIn Group to promote my vision at:

Catholic Web Developers of America

One of the many great encyclicals that Pope St. John Paul II gave us was:

I think this will answer many, if not all, of your questions.

I also have a philosophy page under the Resources tab. I haven't assessed all the site links so feedback would be appreciated.

I also found these links on Yahoo:

Finally, I found this book titled:

I can't vouch for how good it is, but I saw no negative (ratings|reviews) from readers of this book.

I hope this helps some.

Your brother in prayer, your brother in Christ,

Mike Humphrey
