Hi, Susan —
Unfortunately, the Sacrament of Confirmation
cannot be repeated. However, if you
weren't properly disposed to receive
its graces when it was administered,
you can receive those graces any
time later by properly disposing
yourself and praying to receive them.
A good way to do this is to attend a Life in the Spirit seminar. While
this is not an official part of the
Catholic faith that is formally endorsed
by the Church, it's compatible with
the faith, and many people have received
powerful outpourings of the Holy
Spirit through it.
It involves some
preparation, followed by a laying
on of hands and people praying for
you for a fuller release of the Holy
Spirit.
Another devotional that people have
benefited from is a Cursillo retreat.
In any case, however you do it, what's
important is that you learn your
faith, especially the role of the
Holy Spirit, and totally put your
faith in Christ.
- Open your heart to the Holy Spirit,
- surrender yourself entirely to
Christ, and
- pray for the Holy Spirit to come
upon you, as He did to the Apostles
and Disciples on Pentecost.
