From "Life on the Rock" on EWTN, hosted by Father Francis Mary. wrote:
Father Francis was ending the program and wanted Fr. John Corapi to say a few words of encouragement to the youth who are thinking about the priesthood or religious life.
  • What would you say to the young people who are thinking about a vocation to the priesthood or religious life?
  • What would you say to encourage them?

Father Francis

  { What would you say to the young people who are thinking about a vocation to the religious life? }

Fr. John Corapi replied:

The darker the times, the brighter the stars shine. The harder it gets, just bring something out.

We've been going through very difficult times with the scandals in the Catholic Church.

I cannot give you any merely human or natural reason why anyone in their right mind should be a priest or religious in the Catholic Church today, but I can give you the same old powerful, magnificent, supernatural reasons to be a priest or to be a religious.

If you yearn for greatness.
If you love other people.

If you want, as the army commercial says,

. . . to be, all that you can be.

Come on . . . be a priest, be a religious.

Fr. John Corapi, SOLT
