Janet wrote:

Mary Ann,

My husband and I are both in our 60's and enjoy sex on a regular basis, but I have been bothered by one aspect of our love making.

In order for me to reach a climax, we sometimes use a vibrator.

  • Am I committing a sin by doing this?

It makes me feel guilty.

Thank you so much.

Janet

  { If we are in our 60s and enjoying our sex lives, is it a sin to use a vibrator to bring me to climax? }

Mary Ann replied:

Hi, Janet —

Before or after normal intercourse, it is permissible for the husband to help bring the wife to climax, but I believe that the use of a vibrator is an intrusion into the personal character of the marital embrace. It seems more that you are masturbating after intercourse. If so, that would be illicit. If your husband is using it on you, it seems a bit contrary to the human and personal nature of married love.

Other than these observations, you would have to consult a moralist who is more of an expert, than I.

Hope this helps,

Mary Ann
