Hi guys,
I want to have the name of St. Marie added to my name.
- Where would it go?
- Can it go on to the Certificate of Confirmation?
Thank you!
I love your site.

How do I add a Saint's name to my name and can it go on the certificate of Confirmation? }

Mike replied:
Hi Pati,
If mind serves me correctly, at Confirmation all the candidates have an opportunity
to choose a Confirmation name, so if you haven't been confirmed yet, yes, you can.
If the Confirmation process was taken lightly, as in my case, the parents may have just
used the first name of the candidate. That
was the situation in my case. My first name is Michael and my Confirmation name was
Michael.
If one has been confirmed but doesn't know their Confirmation name they can usually
go to the rectory of the Church where they were confirmed and find out. Once you have been confirmed with a Confirmation name, I don't believe
it can be changed.
You can probably have a Confirmation name of Marie, but I don't believe St.
Marie would be allowed.

Thank you Mike,
I meant I wanted the name of Marie, named after St. Marie.
- Would it go on the Certificate of Confirmation or is there such a thing?
Thank you so much for everything!

Eric replied:
Hi, Pati —
Absolutely there is, and it would go there but, once confirmed, you cannot change (or
add) your Confirmation name.
