Hi, guys —

We recently went to my husband's Navy reunion and stayed at a hotel for four nights. When we checked out, my husband went in and paid with a credit card and gave me the itemized bill.
After we got home, I looked at the itemized bill and saw they only charged us for three nights.

I called the hotel and asked to talk to the manager, explaining to the clerk what I needed to talk to him about. She said he wouldn't be in until the next day but that I could leave him a voice mail and he would return my call.

I left a detailed voice mail explaining the mistake and left a phone number where I could be reached but he never returned my call.

  • Should I call again or have I fulfilled my responsibility to straighten this issue out with my two calls?

Hi, Marsha —

You might want to wait until you get your credit card bill to be sure they have not charged you.
I think you have done what you need to. They may have compel you a night:

  • for being military, or
  • perhaps they are going to charge you, or
  • perhaps it is too much trouble and expense to charge you, or
  • perhaps the clerk or the manager doesn't want to get anyone in trouble.

You may stir things up by calling again!

If you are bothered because he may not have gotten the message, it wouldn't be a bad idea to call and speak to the manager or the clerk and ask if he got your message.
