Hi, guys —
I saw this on one of your answers:
You should know that Christ promised salvation to all
the Gentiles (pagans, at the time) who did
not know him but who performed the corporal works of
mercy. They said,
"But we never saw you!"
And he said,
"What you did to the least of my brethren, you
did to me."
Matthew 25:37-40

When I presented this argument to an acquaintance
of mine she gave me these in reply:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the
truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me."
and
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
|
- So, is it possible for someone who does not believe
in God to be saved?
If you can, Please give me some Scripture to back up your answers.
Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Laura —
What Jesus is saying in John 14:6 is that everyone
who is saved is saved through Him. As for the quote
saying,
". . . whoever does not believe will be condemned",
that means that whoever follows Him, the Light of
the world, insofar as God allows that person to see
the light, will be saved.
Whoever believes God's Word,
- which is Christ
- who
is the Logos
- who is the Light
which is found:
- in the revelation of creation
- in our reason (natural
law) or conscience, and
- in Revelation, capital R, the Law of God, and
the full Revelation in Christ.
