Hi, Ekeson —
She didn't ascend to heaven. She
was taken up, or assumed, body and
soul, into Heaven.
We do not know whether this happened
at the moment of death or whether
her body was joined to her soul later.
There are pious traditions for both views.
The point is that her body, from
which came the Savior's body, would
be the first to fully
participate in the Redemption.
It is only fitting that the flesh
that she shared with Christ be glorified
in Him, as ours will be on the last
day, provided we are numbered among
His friends.
