Hi, guys —
- In the Liturgy of the Hours for the feast
of St. Maximilian Kolbe (August 14th), why is
there is a proper antiphon for the Magnificat
(Song of Mary) in Evening Prayer?
This is the evening of the Solemnity of the
Assumption which is always celebrate at that
time with Evening Prayer I.
With thanks,
James

Hi, James —
While I can't cite you an actual
living example, it is theoretically
possible for bishops conferences
to transfer the Assumption to Sunday,
in which case the Magnificat antiphon
for the memorial of St. Kolbe would
be relevant.
