Hi, guys —

My husband is Catholic and we married in the Catholic Church so our sons were baptized as Catholics. Our 10-year-old son has not received his First Holy Communion.

  • How will he go about doing this?

I am in the process of joining the Church now.

  • Will he have to go through RCIA like I am?

This site is very informative!

Thank you!

  { Since my son hasn't received his First Communion, will he have to go thru RCIA like me: a convert? }

At age 10, he can join the regular parish First Communion class, or he can join a special children's RCIA if your parish has one, and if he wants to go.

For instance, he may want to if the children's First Communion class is mostly younger children — although, from what I see, many older children attend those classes also.
