Hi, guys —

I'm in my Freshman year of High School. I found a web site that supposedly grants wishes.

A whole bunch of people are saying it works, so now I'm very tempted to try it out, but I'm scared it could count as a serious sin, like when Saul (the King of Israel) went to a fortune teller, and God got kind of mad at him.

I see that many people are saying God bless you to whoever is granting the wishes, so it must mean other believers are using the site as well.

Please help, I'm very confused right now!

Angel

Eric replied:

Hi, Angel —

Your description of the site is rather vague but I'd recommend staying away from it. There are only three ways to get wishes granted:

  1. One, to fulfill them in the natural way using natural means. I assume this site is not about this.

  2. Another way is to pray to God for them, but this is not guaranteed and depends on the will of God, so anyone who guarantees you are going to get your wishes, is not using this method.

  3. The third method is by means of witchcraft or sorcery which, of course, you have to avoid.

There is the possibility is that this site is entirely bogus and no one is actually doing anything useful with your wishes.

This is probably the most likely case.

Eric
