Hi, guys —
My friends are all atheists. Now, normally, this wouldn't bother me, as I am accepting of the lifestyles and religions, or lack there of, that they choose for themselves. However, it is rather irritating when, every other thing, my friends say or post on Face book is based on how God doesn't exist, is impotent, or evil. Though they never take direct shots at my religion, it is still fairly annoying when all they have to talk about is:
- how religion is evil, and
- books by Dan Brown are good because of how they combat the Church.
- These are close friends of mine, and I still enjoy their company very much, but what should I do when my friend posts pictures like this on Face book?
[Picture blocked out.]
This quote really bothered me but I could be overreacting.
- What should I do to not let their extreme Atheism bother me?
I also think it's rather ridiculous how they scoff at religion and yet believe man came from monkeys and that fish, and the universe, started from nothing.
Thank you very much; this has really been bothering me.
Sincerely,
Dave

Paul replied:
Dear Dave,
Always remember if you're on God's side you're always in the majority.
It is right to pity your friends' blindness and feel anger, now and then, if there is willful stubbornness (and/or) ridicule pointed your way, due to their blindness. I did not click on the link of the picture you sent, but I can imagine what it might be.
If they are intellectual types, you could lead them to chew on Aquinas' Five Proofs (in Article 3):
You also might challenge them on their idea of good or evil, which you say they speak about.
If there is no God, then there is no objective standard by which to judge anything as good or evil.
- Ask them where they received their concept of good?
- Where does their concept of good come from?
Paul
