Hi, guys —
Good morning,
I recently found a metal attached to something like a Rosary. It has 33 beads that are equally spaced. The metal reads:
"Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, have mercy on us."
It also says you receive 300 day's indulgence — each time.
What is this and what prayers do you say?
Thank you and have a blessed day.
Sincerely,
Lynn Farrell

Can you tell me what type of Catholic sacramental I've come across; it has 33 beads? }

Mike replied:
Hi Lynn,
It is the Chaplet of the Blessed Sacrament.
This consists of a medal of the Blessed Sacrament and 33 beads, representing the 33 years that Jesus lived on earth.
On the medal say:
"As I cannot now receive Thee, my Jesus, in Holy Communion, come spiritually into my heart, and make it Thine own forever."
On each bead say:
"O Jesus, in the Blessed Sacrament, have mercy on us!"
If you don't have a good foundation of what indulgences are, these two postings should solidify your understanding:
Hope this helps,
Mike
