Hi, guys —
I am a 16-year-old girl. When I was 4 to 6-years-old, I had horrible night terrors. It was constant, and every time I had one, it was the same dream from beginning to end.
I was an older woman, dressed in a nighty, and walking through a cold house, at what looked to be the break of dawn on a winter's day. It was a very blue setting. Then I stepped out of the house's front door and stepped into ... what seemed to be the end of the world, or Hell; but either way it wasn't pretty. The person in my dream walked into the burning place as if it was nothing, like it was a daily routine. The people, whom were burning alive didn't seem shocked, nor scared to see me, but relived, like I had come to save them. As I awoke, I stopped out of instinct. A cold hand was laid upon my left shoulder, and as I turned around to see who it was, I woke up. Up until that point, I tried to wake up, but literally felt as if I was being forced into this dream.
I've been told that it was a gift, and I've been told it was my demon. I don't know what to think.
- Is it a sign from God?, or
Is it something I should seek medical help for?
These dreams have been haunting me for my entire life, and I'm desperate to know what they could mean.
Please give me your opinions.

Dear Dana,
I wish we could help, but we are not counselors nor priests so we can't answer or speculate on dream questions.
It falls outside the scope of our mission of answering questions and clarifying misperceptions about the Catholic faith.
I believe all of my colleagues would agree with me and recommend that you talk to your local pastor or priest; someone who knows you well.
Just make an appointment with him or, depending on how much time he can spare, talk to him for a few minutes, after Mass.
Sorry, that's the best we can do.
Side note: Although each of us has a holy guardian angel to protect us and guide us to holy behavior, there is no such thing as a personal demon. Demons, as a group though, do strive to persuade us into bad behaviors and habits.
