Hi, guys —
I'm a Catholic.
I used to attend church on a regular basis and was an altar server for several years. I stopped attending church after I became a coeliac. I found it too awkward going to my parish church where I was well known, but no longer able to receive Communion or serve.
I have tried the gluten free host provided at my parish and was very ill after so that was not an option. I also can't receive the [wine/blood] because often there is a piece of the host in the chalice. There is also the cross contamination of the gluten from people who have received from the chalice before me.
I'm moving to another town soon and hope to start attending church again with a new parish, where I don't think I'll find it so difficult to receive Communion.
As I move on in my life I wish to marry a non-Catholic, someone who cannot receive Communion in the Catholic Church.
- Will it be possible?
- Can there be a Catholic marriage where neither person getting married actually receives Communion?
Thanks,
