Hi, guys —

I am a 51 year old female. I have a question about angels at the time of someone's death
and I would appreciate your opinion.

My father saw what he described as a man and, at other times, a group of ladies in his room about a few weeks before he died. He said the man told him he would never leave him and be with him always. He seemed comforted by this, on the other hand, at times I would find him laying in bed with the covers drawn over his head and he wouldn't uncover until he heard me say who I was. He seemed afraid. He also told my sister that some ladies wanted him to go with them, but he said no.

  • Could these have been good angels, guardian angels, or something bad?

He died peacefully with all of his family present, with no last words.

  • Could these ladies have been angels?

He didn't seem to recognize them as deceased, loved ones.

My father was never one to openly discuss his beliefs so I couldn't question him further on this.

I don't know whether to be comforted, or troubled, by this. My dad was a Catholic, but didn't go to Mass regularly, although my mother tried to get him to go with her.

He was a good decent man and did pray.

Thank you.

Faith L.

  { Can you tell me if these visions near my fathers death were good angels or bad angels? }

Eric replied:

Hi, Faith —

I've heard such anecdotes before. The Faith tells us nothing about them but they are consistent with what we know about the angels.

I think you can take comfort in them.

I expect they were good angels.

Eric
