Hi, guys —

  • Can a Catholic person receive ashes from a Presbyterian Minister on Ash Wednesday?

Bob replied:

Leo,

Ashes are merely a sacramental and do not have the same conditions, for example, as the Eucharist, so in the absence of a Catholic service, you could get them from a Protestant.

  • That being said, why not see if there is a Catholic Mass available?
