Of course it's possible; it can never be proven however. There are many miraculous things we just don't have answers to. Some things God must have a lot of fun with because he keeps us guessing.
In a similar vein, there is a spiral staircase in a church in New Mexico that was built by an anonymous drifter for some nuns after they prayed for a miracle. It defies explanation but it is no illusion; it exists. Maybe he is God's carpenter and makes violins too, Heaven only knows.
