Carol Borelli wrote:

Hi, guys —

My grandchild and two great-grandchildren have not been baptized. Neither of their parents are registered with the Church, although their parents have been baptized in the Catholic Church.

I am concerned that my grandchild and two great-grandchildren would be denied the Kingdom of Heaven should they pass away.

  • Will they be denied the Kingdom of Heaven should they die?

Thank you.

Carol

Bob replied:

Carol,

  • Have you talked to the parents about having them baptized?

The children must be raised as Catholics in order for them to be baptized in the Church, so if the parents don't practice the faith that could be problematic.

I would work on the parents, gently. Trust the children to God's Mercy until such a time as the opportunity may rise.

Peace,

Bob Kirby
