Hi, guys —

I'm a 26-year-old wife who has been married for almost seven years. My husband was raised (and I think baptized) Baptist, but I was baptized in the Mormon, Lutheran, Presbyterian, and Baptist churches.

Our marriage is the first for both of us with no prior marriages or children. My question is:

  • Since I have an interest in becoming a Catholic and he doesn't, will I be allowed to partake in receiving Holy Communion once I become a Catholic?

Bob replied:

Amber,

You will absolutely be able to receive Holy Communion once you become Catholic.

Only a former marriage would raise the question of eligibility and that is not an issue in your situation.

Best wishes,

Bob Kirby
