Hi, guys —

  • Is it a sin for my husband to ejaculate outside of my body when we are being intimate?

I know that it is wrong if we are trying to avoid children but what if we are open to life but know, at a specific time, I would not be able to conceive?

We track my cycle using NFP (Natural Family Planning).

Amelia

  { Can he do this when we are being intimate with each other, seeing we are open to life and NFP? }

Paul replied:

Dear Amelia,

It is a bit perplexing as to what motive your husband might have to do this without the immoral motive of avoiding conception. Nevertheless yes, it is still a violation of natural law as well as a matter of serious sin. All deliberate ejaculation outside the vagina is a sin against nature.

Peace,

Paul

Bob replied:

Amelia,

This is often a feature of eroticism that treats sex as something other than sacred. It is how porn is made: for eroticism devoid of true human sexuality as God designed it.

Ask your husband if he watches porn. I would bet my money on it. It's not good for your marriage and you shouldn't become an object of lust.

Keeping the flame of sexual intimacy is one of the chief blessings but often the most challenging aspects of married love. If you do it well, your marriage will grow in the best of ways.

Don't turn it into something that takes you down the wrong road.

Peace,

Bob Kirby
