Love is an act of freedom, and God does not make us love anyone. That being said, God certainly can bless our love, and even encourage romantic love if He thinks it good for us. He is the author of all things, and romantic love is part of His design.

Nevertheless, Satan can use our desire for romantic love to manipulate us and even cause us to falter. That is why we must prayerfully consider all the implications of falling in love before giving our heart over to someone.

Our reason and our heart should line up.

Friends, family, respected elders are all good ways to vet [or appraise] a love interest.
