Hi, guys —
I was wondering what the requirements are for the sacraments of:
- Reconciliation
- Communion, and
- Confirmation.
I was baptized as a Catholic when I was a small child but was confirmed into the Episcopal church.
- Am I permitted to go to Confession/Reconciliation?
- Also, are there classes that I would have to go through to receive the other sacraments?

If I was baptized Catholic but confirmed Episcopalian, what's needed to receive valid sacraments? }

Ann,
Any Catholic parish could enroll you in an RCIA program to complete your formation and sacraments. I would talk to a priest about Confession. There shouldn't be anything standing in your way to become a Catholic in good standing.
All you really need is the desire to come home.
Welcome home. It is great to hear about people that find their way back.

Ann,
The answer to your question depends on if you are Catholic in Baptism only or whether you had your First Communion in the Catholic Church with religious education.
Also it depends on why you were confirmed in the Episcopal Church.
- Was it your conscious choice or your parents?
- Did you consider it an act of apostasy at the time or was it a decision that was not thought out?
Depending on the answers, the way back in will be determined but there is certainly a way back into the Church for you.
Go to your local parish and see if you qualify for Adult Confirmation.
- If you do, go to Confession and then Communion. The priest in Confession will help you with whether your Episcopal Confirmation was sinful or innocent.
- If you do not qualify for Adult Confirmation then they have determined you are Baptized uncatechized and they will help you to learn about your faith and get you back to the Sacraments in a more gradual way.
