Hi, guys —

I am experiencing some intrusive thoughts that are popping up when I pray the Rosary.

I am very scared that God will listen to these requests for horrible things to happen instead of the things I am actually trying to pray for.

  • Is it OK to let those intrusive requests come out during the Rosary and know that God won't pay any attention to them?
  • Or, should I make sure that there are no intrusive requests and re-pray every bead until there are no intrusive requests in my head while praying?

This is something that is really bothering me so I thank you for your help!

  { Can I pray the Rosary with intrusive thoughts or should I re-pray every bead until they're perfect? }

Eric replied:

Hi, Cole —

Pay no attention to the intrusive thoughts.

Whether they come from the demons trying to mess with your mind, or arise from your own imagination, you are not willing them and (God knows that) and He will not pay attention to them.

Do not obsess about re-praying every bead until your mind is clear; just pray the straight Rosary with no modification.

Eric
