  { Are pyramids referenced in the Bible? }

Mike replied:

Dear Jean,

I really shouldn't answer this question, as it appears to be a homework assignment but because of the answer, let me answer it. You didn't tell us whether you were a Catholic Christian or Protestant Christian. The difference in faith will also result in different answers.

A Catholic Christian researching this should come up with:

  1. Yes, two references in 1 Maccabees 13, verses 28 and 29. while a Protestant Christian will say,
  2. No, there are no references . . . because Luther removed the two Books of Maccabees from the Catholic Canon when creating his Protestant version.

    ( You may find some exceptions to this in some current online Protestant Bible translations.)

Here are the only two (2) Scripture passages I found in the entire Bible:

He also erected seven pyramids, opposite one another, for his father and mother and four brothers.

1 Maccabees 13:28

and

And for the pyramids he devised an elaborate setting, erecting about them great columns, and upon the columns he put suits of armor for a permanent memorial, and beside the suits of armor carved ships, so that they could be seen by all who sail the sea.

1 Maccabees 13:29

Hope this helps,

Mike
