Hi, guys —

I have a few questions today:

  1. What is the difference between Protestant and Catholic exorcists?
  2. If the Catholic Church is the One, True, Faith; and Protestants are considered "heretical", why does God choose to answer their prayers or grant them miracles?
  3. Has Mary actually appeared to Protestants?

  1. Catholic exorcists use the Catholic exorcism rite, which is based on 2,000 years of exorcism tradition. They also have formal authority from God to conduct exorcisms.
    (See Acts 19:13-16)

Protestant exorcists have their own technique and do not have the requisite authority to cast out demons, though God may deign to hear their prayers from time to time.

  2. Matthew 5:45 (RSV2CE): [F]or he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

  3. Not to my knowledge, but she has allegedly appeared to the Coptic Orthodox (Christians).

I hope this helps,

Eric
