I Love My Wife But

  { Is masturbation a mortal sin if my wife refuses sex? }

Bob replied:

Dear friend,

Masturbation is a sin in every circumstance; marital problems are no exception.

I suggest you do some work to figure out how to solve your marital difficulties through potential counseling and an earnest desire to rekindle the flame of love.  A woman will not respond sexually until her heart and soul are feeling fulfilled; therefore, you should not be concerned about turning her on physically but rather emotionally and mentally.

Sex will naturally arise when you are in sync; your body can wait.

Masturbation is a selfish act, and your desire to perform such an act says that it is all about you — that is your problem.  It is both a symptom and perpetuator of this relationship-killing attitude.

Start loving your wife selflessly, and you may begin to see a change — sooner than you think.

Peace,

Bob Kirby
