Dear Fathers,

I am currently doing my year 11 at Don Bosco Technical School in Papua New Guinea.

If you could please assist me answering these questions below, I would appreciate your time and help:

  1. What made you join priesthood?
  2. What were the training procedures and how did it take for you to join the priesthood?
  3. Are you free to leave priesthood if you decided to go?
  4. If yes, why; if no, why?
  5. Do You find real joy in being a priest and serving the believers?
  6. Do you think Catholic priests should be allowed to get married?
  7. Why or why not?
  8. What inspired you to become a priest?
  9. When did you know you were going to be a priest?
  10. Did your family agree with your decision to try and become a priest?
    <State with reasons why or why not.>
  11. What was your vocation or calling when you where a student?
  12. Why can only Deacons get married: why can't priests get married?
    <State with reasons.>

Joseph

  { Can you answer some questions about your priesthood for a student at Don Bosco Technical? }

Bob replied:

Dear Joseph,

We are not ordained priests, but rather ordinary lay people.

Sorry, those questions don't apply to us.

Thanks and God bless.

Bob Kirby

Mike replied:

Hi Joe,

In addition to Bob's reply, we don't do people's homework and this sounds like a homework assignment.

Unless you are in a rushed situation, just call any faithful Catholic parish and ask to make an appointment with a pastor or priest who can answer your questions.

In addition, you can probably get some time with a priest at a local Catholic monastery or religious convent.

We use to have a priest-helper in good standing in the Archdiocese of Boston who helped up for a long period of time but he got elevated to a Bishop by Pope Francis.

If there are other faithful priests in the Archdiocese of Boston who are knowledgeable in Canon Law, who would be willing to assist our work, we would love to have you onboard.

Just contact me through our About Us page.
